Opinions of psychiatrists about the famous 'spinner' and its relationship with ADHD

All of us who have a relationship to a greater or lesser extent with minors will be more or less accustomed by now to that small rotating toy that almost everyone carries in their hands, or on the tip of their nose, or on one of their knees ... The thing is that it turns and turns without stopping, and that from the beginning, it was thought that it helped to achieve greater concentration in children, improving especially in those who had ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

Well, it is not as well as they say and we have read some opinions about it that psychiatrists from different parts of the world have about the famous fidget Spinner, staying above all with that of Censo Arango, which we will show you below.

What do they think from Psychiatry?

Celso Arango, vice president of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and president of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology, has categorically ruled out that this "toy" has any benefit for children with ADHD since there is no evidence or scientific proof in this regard. He has communicated it in the following words: "There have been no clinical trials or studies that prove the effectiveness of this toy for the benefit of children with ADHD"; "In Medicine we are too tired of 'miracle drugs' and 'miracle therapies', all that is behind this is money and someone who makes a profit." Even so, he has also ensured that the 'spinner' It does not pose any problem since it is not harmful, but that does not mean that you have to be fooled, since it does not carry all the pros and benefits that they say it has.

What's more, and this is a personal opinion as an educational monitor that I am also: How many teachers are not dissatisfied with these little gadgets that serve more as a distraction for their students in class? Don't be fooled with so-called "miracles" regarding the health of our minors ... Be very careful!
