The University of Granada has given the green light to its new planning of official master's degrees and doctoral programs For the 2026-2027 academic year, this offering consolidates the institution's position as a leading provider of postgraduate education in Spain. The decision was made at the regular meeting of the Governing Council held on Thursday, May 7, where the admission limits for each degree program were established according to their respective verification reports.
In total, the institution makes available to the students 5.706 university master's degree places and 895 doctoral placesdistributed across 172 master's degrees and 29 doctoral programs. The proposal maintains a balance between branches of knowledge, strengthens the international profile of the University of Granada (UGR), and reinforces the role of its Ceuta and Melilla campuses within the postgraduate offerings landscape.
Distribution of places in official master's degrees
The new range of official master's degrees presents a broad and diversified plan, with 5.706 places distributed by branches of knowledge Following the capacity criteria established for each degree, this structure aims to respond to both academic demand and the needs of the social and professional environment.
By areas, The Social Sciences and Law account for the largest volume, with 2.507 places, including 129 for the Master in Law and Solicitorship and 999 for the Master's Degree in Teacher Training Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching, which will be taught on the campuses of Granada, Ceuta and Melilla.
The remaining places are distributed among the major branches of knowledge, maintaining a significant presence from all fields. Another program being incorporated is the Master's Degree in Foreign Trade and International Economic Relationswhich will have a presence on the Granada, Ceuta, and Melilla campuses. The distribution of places includes 26 for Granada, 7 for Ceuta, and 7 for Melilla, reflecting the international and cross-border focus of these campuses.
The educational and technological fields are also gaining prominence with the new Master's Degree in Digital Education and EntrepreneurshipThe program, which will be taught specifically at the Ceuta Campus and will offer 30 places, is situated at the intersection of pedagogy, digital innovation, and entrepreneurial culture, in a context where online teaching and digital projects are increasingly important.
Following the same line of specialization, the Melilla Campus will host the new Master's Degree in Research on Active and Healthy Lifestyleswith 30 places. In the field of national joint master's programs, programs such as the following have been verified: Master's Degree in Applications of Artificial Intelligence for Health SciencesThe course, offered jointly by the University of Granada and the International University of Andalusia, has 30 places available. This qualification connects artificial intelligence with the healthcare sector and clinical data management.

In the field of research training, the University of Granada has approved a 29 doctoral programs offered with a total of 895 placesThese programs will be managed through its three Doctoral Schools. They offer research pathways in virtually all fields of knowledge.
