The Local Employment Agency of Alicante has just presented the Second Workshop on Dependency Care. The objective of this workshop is to train the unemployed in caring for dependent people. The workshop is divided into two independent training modules, such as Geriatric Care and Care for People with Disabilities.

These workshops are supported by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana and they are endowed with a budget of ⬠546.111 and are scheduled to start in December 2010 and end in December 2011. The Local Employment Agency has highlighted the great employability that currently exists in the care of dependents.
The students who participate in the courses also have the advantage that they have secured a one-year contract in companies that manage care for dependents. The number of students who will be able to participate in the courses will be 30 unemployed and, as already explained, they will be entitled to a one-year contract after the perceptive candidate selection process.
The person in charge of carrying out the selection will be the Valencian Training and Employment Service (SERVEF) and those selected will be entitled during the training period to a remuneration that will be 1,5% of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary through the modality of the training contract.
The workshop is organized according to two simultaneous theoretical and practical phases lasting six months. During this period the student will combine theoretical training with practical work. The teachers are all experts and have been hired by the Local Agency within the various health branches.
